Calling Sharatchandra Bengal's 'greatest' novelist is a blunder boss.
He sucked big time in most of his writings...mostly a pulp-fiction writer taken to popularity in non-bengali India because of his 'filmable' novels and that hopelessly sad 'devdas's' instant connection with wretched Indian male. (Self-pity is our national trait, if not sport.)
